Bootsy Collins Announces New Album World Wide Funk for October 2017 Release And Unveils New Song “Worth My While”

It’s been six year since the world has experienced a dose of funk from legendary musician/songwriter Bootsy Collins after releasing his last album Tha Funk Capital of the World back in 2011. But it seems that the iconic Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member has returned with more funk straight out of the Mothership Connection to energize the wounded souls on the planet. Just recently Bootsy Collins has released “Worth My While” the first single from his brand new album World Wide Funk.

According to Pitchfork, Bootsy Collins plans on dropping his brand new album World Wide Funk on October 27th. The album will feature guest appearances from Chuck D, Big Daddy Kane, Musiq Soulchild, Collin’s late Parliament-Funkadelic partner Bernie Worrell and many more. The first single “Worth My While” featuring soul singer Kali Uchis is a perfect way to introduce Collins’ new album. It starts off with praises from women who claim that the music from the funk legend has lead them and their friends to a journey called love. You can hear the sample of Jaco Pastorius’ “Portrait of Tracy” being doused in funk and soul, while the Colombian songbird sings harmonies that are similar to female R&B group SWV’s single “Rain.” Whether hearing Collins speaks on being in love in the language called cool or being amazed by the funked out production, “Worth My While” is a great start for World Wide Funk to capture the ears of music fans all around who enjoy love songs that are covered in funk. Below you can checkout Boosty Collins’ new single “Worth My While” and the track list to his upcoming album World Wide Funk.
