Jenny O. – Peace & Information

Just the Right Amount of Chill

Jenny O. is a quirky artist that showcases beautiful lyricism along with the perfect amount of relaxed atmosphere in her sophomore full-length album Peace & Information. She has released music since 2011 when she released a self-produced EP titled Home. Since the release of Home, Jenny O. has really made a name for herself in the music industry.

Since her start in music, she has had songs featured on Grey’s Anatomy, True Blood and advertising campaigns for Subaru and Toyota. Over the course of six years, Jenny O. has made strides with her music and it really comes together on the album Peace & Information.

One of the standout qualities of Peace & Information are the lyrics throughout the album. On Jenny O.’s website, she explains that the writing of the songs on Peace & Information wasn’t, “necessarily the songs I wanted to write, but they were the ones I had to write.” She takes the listener on a journey through coping with depression and other trials that one might face through life on Peace & Information.

Jenny O. takes subjects that might be hard for individuals to talk about and makes them easy for listeners to hold on to every word she writes. The music backing the beautiful lyrics serves perfectly for the vibe of this album as a whole.

The album starts with a track titled “Case Study,” which perfectly sets the listener up for what is to come on the rest of the album. The music itself is reminiscent of artists like Eisley and feels like it would fit perfectly in the neighborhood local coffee shop.

After hearing the entirety of Peace & Information it would be nearly impossible to claim that Jenny O. doesn’t know what she is doing and that she isn’t going to go far in the industry. She is an artist that should be kept on everyone’s radar.
