About a month ago it was reported that Stone Temple Pilots are preparing to do it big to celebrate the upcoming 25th anniversary of their debut album Core this fall on September 29th. The legendary rock band plans to release rare tracks, unreleased demos and live recordings for remastered 25th anniversary edition of their 8x platinum selling debut LP. Well it looks as if the group has given a little treat to their fans as they anticipate the celebration. According to Loud Wire, Stone Temple Pilots have teamed up with them to bring their fans the exclusive premiere of their performance of “Plush” from a July 2, 1993, show at the Castaic Lake Natural Amphitheater. The Castaic Lake gig is one of two concert offerings that is included in the Core silver anniversary set. When talking about their performance of “Plush,” Stone Temple Pilot’s guitarist Dean DeLeo spoke about how the audience discovered how talented the iconic group’s lead singer, the late Scott Weiland, was stating “I think what people saw is truly how brilliant of a singer Scott was. He was obviously not just a rock singer. He has the ability to sing a lot of different things.” Below you can checkout the rare live performance of Stone Temple Pilots in their prime performing “Plush.”
