Snakehips @ The Fillmore 11/10

Snakehips, an electronic duo based in Britain, is currently on the rise in the music world. Since 2012, Snakehips has worked with the best up and coming artists including Zayn, Chance The Rapper, and MO. The duo consists James Carter and Oliver Lee. Snakehips began to make a name for themselves making remixes for popular artists like The Weeknd, Banks, and Bondax. Aside from remixes of popular hits, Snakehips achieved their first mainstream success with their 2015 breakout hit, “All My Friends” featuring Chance The Rapper. Snakehips is currently signed with RCA Records.

The duo first met in Hong Kong. After meeting again on a flight, Oliver and James decided to record some music together. Snakehips’s music has been described as electronic with a mixture of rap, R&B, and indie pop. In 2014, Snakehips released their debut single, “Days With You”. The single featured singer Sinead Harnett. A year later, Snakehips released their debut EP, Forever Pt. II. The album was released via Sony Records. In October 2015, Snakehips made their way into the mainstream music scene with “All My Friends” featuring Chance The Rapper and Tinashe. The single peaked at no. 5 on the UK Singles Chart.

Snakehips released their second EP, Money On Me in 2016. The EP featured artist like Anderson Paak along with a few others. Over the years, Snakehips released a few high profile singles in 2016. Snakehips released a single with Zayn titled, “Cruel”. The single was certified gold by ARIA and silver by BPI. The duo is currently working on their debut album, to be released later this year.

Donovan Wilkins: Donovan Wilkins is a self-taught photographer and published writer. He lives in Glenside after moving from his hometown of Philadelphia. After studying Liberal Arts at CCP, he decided to focus his time on his writing and photography. In 2016, Donovan completed his first feature-length screenplay, The Coast is Clear. During his career, Donovan worked on a small budget film in Philadelphia as part of a writing team. Since then, he has written various short screenplays.
