English alternative rock band Swervedriver has made a name for themselves in the music world. Between 1989 and 1998, the band has released four studio albums and a few EPs. While they have been considered as a rock band, Swervedriver has included elements classic pop, indie rock, and psychedelia rock. The band went on a hiatus until the band got back together for touring purpose in 2013. Swervedriver released their first full-length album in over 17 years. The band’s current members include Adam Franklin, Jimmy Hartridge, Mikey Jones, and Steve George.
Swervedriver released a four-track EP over the course of a year. Son of Mustang Ford, Swervedriver’s debut EP, was released July 1990. The EP was released via Creation and A&M Records. The band went on a series of appearances on various radio shows promoting their new EP. Swervedriver went on their first US national tour the following year. Their third EP, Sandblasted peaked at no. 67 on the UK Chart. The band released their debut album, Raise, in September 1991. The following year, Swervedriver released an EP featuring the unreleased songs from their debut album.
Swervedriver released their second studio album, Mezcal Head, in 1993. By this time, the band had signed with Sony Music Group. The band went around the US appearing at various music festivals. Swervedriver went on a hiatus after creative issues within the band. The band got back together in 2007 performing at Coachella. The tour continued throughout the North America, making stops along the way. The band performed on Jimmy Fallon for their newest single, “Son of Mustang Ford”. In early 2015, Swervedriver announced a new album, I Wasn’t Born to Lose to be released later in the year.
