Fans of the rock band, Brand New, have been anticipating new music for years. Ever since the band’s previous work, Daisy, back in 2009, it has been teased but never confirmed.
They have delayed it long enough and now Brand New has officially announced that their new and finalalbum is set to be released sometime in October. It is now available to pre-order on Vinyl at their label, Procrastinate! Music Traitor’s website. The band has exclaimed that the pre-order is “very limited” so fans should be swift.
Though the band had previously stated that their fifth album would be due out in 2016, later said in a statement that in their mind, it wasn’t “complete enough, refined enough, or edited thoroughly enough to be something we would call finished or essential.” Now that they have released a pre-order for the new album, should mean that it is officially done. Since their fourth album, Daisy, which came out back in 2009, the band has released three new songs including “I Am A Nightmare,” “Mene,” and “Out of Range.”
Brand New has made it clear that this will be the final year of the band’s existence and it is no wonder since all preorders of the new album have sold out. The band has been together for 16 years forming back in 2000 with four albums under their belt. Though the band states they will release their final album and have one final tour before they call it quits.
The final tour will begin in September and will include a show at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre on October 19. Fans can purchase presale tickets for the tour now and when they go on sale for the general public Friday, August 18th.
Brand New is headlining at the High & Low festival in San Bernardino, CA in September. They will be performing alongside Death Cab, Tegan & Sara, Kevin Devine, Cloud Nothings as well as many others. The band is also set to perform at Voodoo fest in New Orleans in October as well as another High & Low show in San Francisco. For more of these dates, check out the list below.
