Tori Amos Releases New Song “Up The Creek” Featuring Vocals From Her Daughter

Legendary singer Tori Amos has released another new track from her upcoming album Native Invader, the sprawling “Up the Creek.” The song features a slick electronic drum beat in addition to a dense web of orchestral hits, searing electric guitar work, and elegant piano lines. Amos’ teenage daughter Tash, makes a guest appearance on the track, taking on the majority of the vocal duties.

Lyrically the song is concerned with the current state of the planet and the pending natural disaster influenced by a saying from Amos’ grandfather: “good lord willin and the creek don’t rise” which is used as the main chorus throughout the song. “Up the Creek” is the second single to be released from Native Invader, following the jazz-influenced “Cloud Riders.” Amos is gearing up for massive fall tour of the US in support of Native Invader, which is set to be released on Decca records on September 8th.  The album is her 15th overall and first since 2014’s Unrepentant Geraldines.
