Los Lobos are a Mexican folk band from Los Angeles California. With a mix between folk, rock n’ roll, Tex-Mex, country and blues, the band has been in the game since 1973. The group was formed by high-school friends David Hidalgo and Louie Perez. The two had similar taste in records and began making their own songs. They soon recruited two other bandmates from their high school, Cesar Rosas and Conrad Lozano.
Following Ritchie Valens, Los Lobos have their own version of “La Bamba,” “Come on Let’s Go” and “We Belong Together,” which were all featured on the movie La Bamba too. Along with those songs, “Cancion del Mariachi” and “Will the Wolf Survive” are some of Los Lobos most popular songs. The group has won a few Grammy’s over the years. The Clifford Antone Foundation will be donating all proceeds to American YouthWorks, providing the youth with education and job skills training.
