Canadian rock band Propagandhi is gearing up for the release of their new album, Victory Lap, due to be released this September. The punk rock band is known for their stance against racism, capitalism, sexism, and homophobia. Propagandhi continued to build their career and fan base while in their hometown of Portage la Prairie, Canada. While the band’s early music has been linked to skate punk, Propagandhi broke the mold by shifting to more dark and heavy music later in their career. Propagandhi has released 6 studio albums since they were formed in 1986.
In 1992, the band signed with Fat Wreck Chords after their performance with punk rock band NOFX. The band released their debut album, How to Clean Everything in 1993. Propagandhi spent the next few years touring while releasing a few singles. In 1996, Propagandhi released their second studio album, Less Talk, More Rock via Fat Wreck Records. The band released their third album, Today’s Empires, Tomorrow’s Ashes in 2001. With the release of their fourth album, Potemkin City Limits, the band also released information about various organizations that they supported. In 2007, the band released a DVD set featuring shows they have performed that year.
Following 2007, Propagandhi spent the next few years working their fifth album. The album, Supporting Castle, was released in March 2009. An EP, Recovered EP, followed the release of the album in 2010. The EP featured previous singles from their previous albums. Their sixth album was released in 2012, along with a book. The band announced in Spring 2017, there was a new album in the works. Victory Lap, Propagandhi’s new album will be released late September.
