Both the Knife, and Karin Dreijer’s solo project Fever Ray (R.I.P. Breaking Bad), have been quiet since the Knife’s final 2014 tour following the release of Shaking the Habitual. Minus a DJ set here or there, both projects have been in hibernation mode (one officially broken up).
Fans of the Knife however got a glimmer of hope this morning with some signs of life. Like when your ex changes their relationship status, fans instantly noticed that the Knife had updated their Facebook. The group’s profile picture was updated, a new cover video was added, then a minute-long film was updated moments later.
The new video is entitled “Mother of Knives Cooking Class,” and well, it’s pretty f***ing creepy. The video shows a masked individual preparing various ingredients in a kitchen, some normal looking and others…not so much (diehard fans will notice a Fever Ray bird mask), with Shaking the Habitual track “Networking,” playing in the back.
The profile’s cover video shows a knife slicing a cherry candy, with muffled and distorted voices looping in the background. You can see them both below (probably keep the lights on). While the group is mum on what any of this means, in this day and age it probably means something is on the way, so stay tuned.
UPDATE (8/13): The Knife have released a third teaser video today. Check it out below.
