Tera Melos is an American rock band based in California. The band has been known to mix different styles of rock with very ambient sounds. The band consists of lead vocalist Nick Reinhart, bassist Nathan Latona, and drummer John Clardy. Tera Melos’ music has been described as always ever changing with great open bridges and use of different pedals. Tera Melos has released 5 studio albums along with a few EPs during their career. The band is currently signed with Sargent House Records.
After forming in 2004, Tera Melos practiced for nearly a year before performing live. In the fall of 2005, the band released an untitled debut album. The album only held eight songs, later being re-issued in 2010 by Sargent House. Tera Melos released an EP, Drugs to the Dear Youth in early 2007. After the release of the EP, Tera Melos went on their first national tour. Towards the end of the year, the band toured with fellow bands Facing New York and By the End of Tonight. Tera Melos released an EP featuring covers of popular songs titled Idioms Vol. I. In the winter of 2009, Tera Melos toured with Melt Banana and RX Bandits as well as headlining their own tour. In October 2009, the band went on tour again on a limited city tour in Japan. The following year, Tera Melos released another album, Patagonian Rats. A world tour followed the release of the album with fellow rock bands Maps & Atlases and Marnie Stern.
Tera Melos didn’t release any new music for two years before dropping a new single, “Tropic Lime” in 2013. Tera Melos two more singles,”Sunburn” and “Bite” before releasing their new LP, X’ed Out. The band spent the rest of the year touring non-stop with various bands including record label mates TTNG, Minus the Bear, Pinback, and Dillinger Escape Plan. Tera Melos’ new album, Trash Generator will be released at the end of August this year.
