Gary Numan Releases Brooding New Song “What God Intended”

Last month it was reported that singer/songwriter Gary Numan is set to release his 22nd album Savage (Songs From A Broken World) next month on September 15th through BMG. The electronic producer also dropped the first single off the new album called “My Name Is Ruin” in order to prepare for the arrival of his new album. Well it seems that Numan is adding more to his preparation for the album by releasing his second song called “What God Intended.”

Just like “My Name Is Ruin,” “What God Inteded” can be best described as an apocalyptic battlefield that’s filled with eerie electronic sounds. In a press release Numan described the broody new song as one of the stranger songs on the album stating “The choruses are mostly instrumental and the three verses, each entirely different from the other, all sit over a huge, slow moving groove.” Lines like “Save me for what God intended,” gives the feeling that Numan hopes to be rescued from the aftermath of destruction that he’s in.

While working on the album Numan put together a Pledge Music campaign in order to create an experience for fans that would let them see how an album was being put together. The success of the campaign was so good that it secured Numan with a record deal with BMG. In support of the album, Numan will also be preparing to go on the North American Savage Tour later on this year from November to December.
