The Tallest Man on Earth recently released the first episode of a series of multifaceted videos entitled “The Light in Demos”, that Kristian Matsson will be writing recording, directing, and editing himself. The video opens with a peaceful Matsson exploring the woods, passing by waterfalls as he explains his appreciation for creativity and critical thinking. He urges viewers to realize that the current state of our society calls for an urgent resurgence of deep thought, and he expresses that his mission in creating this video series is to inspire people to experience things more deeply. The video features his demo “In Little Fires”, which is a folky finger-picking acoustic jam that instills in the listener the same serenity Matsson has absorbed in his travels over the course of the last ten years. He litters the track with short clips of birds that he captured on his hikes, which were the catalysts of his inspiration to buy his video camera in the first place.
The Tallest Man on Earth mentioned that in pursuit of his video series he will be taking a break from touring, although he did not specify exactly how long his absence would be. True fans have snagged their tickets to his upcoming Brooklyn shows in September 21 and 22, which are the only shows he will be playing in the foreseeable future and both are already sold out.
Throughout the series he intends to include his own demos, his covers of songs that are especially sentimental to him, and the occasionally features of friends. He will supplement the music with inspirational talks and clips of birds, landscapes, and other natural and invigorating scenery he captures along the way.
