Yesterday in an interview with Dazed, Bjork teased fans with a very vague promise of a new album. According to Pitchfork’s summary of the interview, she said that the album would be “coming out very soon”, and that it would be a telling “Tinder record” of past romances. She goes on to say that the album is “about being in love. Spending time with a person you enjoy on every level is obviously utopia.” She elaborates, “I mean, it’s real. It’s when the dream becomes real.” She concludes that part of the interview by summarizing, “I think, if I could, I’d just say this is my dating album. Let’s just leave it there.”
Bjork also eluded to her ongoing musical relationship with Arca, which she calls “the strongest musical relationship [she’s] had”. Other collaborations on this album will include that with video artist Andrew Thomas Huang, who directed videos for several tracks off her “Vulnicura” album released in 2015. He is working on the music video for her song “The Gate,” featuring “a bespoke dress designed by Gucci’s Alessandro Michele and a headpiece by regular collaborator James Merry.”
She made the cover of Dazed for this month’s August edition, which features what may very well be the album art for the anticipated album and hints to a title of “Paradise Found”. The edition is available for purchase today, August 3rd.
