Kevin Morby is an indie-folk singer songwriter from Kansas City. He is currently based in Los Angeles, formerly residing in Brooklyn, NYC. Before Morby started his solo career in 2013, he was a part of Woods and The Babies. Pitchfork describes Morby as, “These days, he’s a songwriter of such elegance and gentle wisdom that he can make a record interrogating the concepts they proposed- heroism, definition, belonging- while remaining sincerely convicted about their performance.”
As the bass player of the Woods and the frontman of The babies, he released a few albums with both bands. Since the start of Morby’s solo career, he has released four studio albums. His latest record, City Music, was out on June 16th. Morby is currently signed to Woodsist and Dead Oceans. During his performances, he is joined with a live band consisting of Meg Duffy on guitar, Cyrus Gengras on bass and Nick Kinsey on drums.
