Stars Announces New Album There Is No Love In Fluorescent Light for October 2017 Release

Canadian group Stars on Day 1

“Does no one fall in love under fluorescent light? Pretty sure that’s not true, as many an office romance could attest. But as a statement in support of love’s delusions, we will stand by it. In love, the lights are different, softer; the air has more oxygen in it; and for a second, all you need is a good chorus to believe this might be the one.”

The press release for Stars new song paints a convincing image, and a fantastic description of new album. “Fluorescent Light” is the atmospheric third single off of Stars new album, There is No Love In Fluorescent Light, featuring the haunting vocals of both Amy Millan and Torquil Campbell. The song follows last month’s double release of “Privilege” and “We Called It Love”.

Stars’ crisp pop style shines through in the single, and points to an album full of the formula that has brought them success for close to 20 years. According to the website for Last Gang Records, “Stars have made their career telling the tales we keep in the darkest, and most hopeful parts of our souls.” There Is No Love In Fluorescent Light is Stars’ 15th studio release, and their latest project since the 2015 Lost & Found EP.

In addition to the album, a documentary featuring the band is in the works. Dinner With The Stars shows the band, “having dinner, and telling stories and eventually getting a little wasted. There’s a baby in it too. He’s fantastic in it.” Check out the trailer here and according to the video’s description, “stay tuned”.

There Is No Love In Fluorescent Light will be released October, 2017 via Last Gang Records.
