Formed in 2001, Irish rock band The Script has been one of the most successful bands to come out of Ireland. The Script’s debut self-titled album, The Script, peaked at number one in the UK and Ireland. The album featured hit singles including “Breakeven” and “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved”. The Script’s next three albums, Science & Faith, #3, and No Sound Without Silence all went on to top the charts in Ireland. The Script has won two World Music Awards and Meteor Ireland Music Awards. The Script’s music has been featured on various tv shows including The Vampire Diaries, Made In Chelsea, The Hills, 90210 and Waterloo Road.
The Script released their debut album 8 August 2008. The album peaked at number one on the UK’s album chart. A few months later, the band released their debut single, “We Cry”. The track peaked in the top 20 on UK Singles Chart and number 9 on Irish Singles Chart. Their second single, “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” was released 15 September 2008. The Script’s debut album spent 11 weeks on UK Albums Chart. In November 2008, The Script received a World Music Award for “Best Selling Irish Act”. The band opened rock band U2 at Croke Park in 2009. The same year, The Script opened for music icon Paul McCartney at Citi Field. Science and Faith, The Script’s second album, was released January 2011. The album debuted at number 1 on Irish Music Charts.
After the Science & Faith tour, The Script announced their upcoming album, #3. The lead single, “Hall of Fame” featuring rapper Will.i.am debuted on the radio in July. The song became their highest selling single to date, earning the number one spot in Ireland, Europe, UK, and Scotland. The band headlined their #3 World Tour, spanning over 11 months and over 4 countries. The band toured with fellow rock band One Republic on their Native Summer Tour during the summer of 2014. The Script released a new single, “Rain” in July 2017. The band teased a new album, Freedom Child, to be released this Fall.
