After 3 years of silence, indie rock band Sweet Apple seems to be ready to make some noise by recently releasing their video to their brand new track “World I’m Going To Leave You,” featuring vocals from both Mark Lanegan and Bob Pollard. According to Dangerous Minds, “World I’m Going To Leave You,” will be the first of four videos from their new LP Sing The Night in Sorrow which is scheduled to come out tomorrow July 28.
The video displays a light hearted version of a horrific railroad incident that took place in Steuben County New York on August 30, 1943. 74 years ago, a Lackawanna Limited passenger train drove 70 miles per hour into a freight engine causing 110 passengers to be injured and leaving 28 of them to face a gruesome death that involved one passenger to be crushed during the wreckage & the other 27 trapped in a coach that landed atop the freight engine which emptied itself of steam into the coach.
Sweet Apple members Dinosaur Jr, Witch and Cobra Verde (John Petkvic & Tim Parnin) have used the train car as the setting of their brand new video to create visuals of their own version of the tragic event. In the video you see a couple of people entering the train as passengers including Dinosaur Jr., while Petkvic plays the role of a conductor with a devil mask on. Throughout the video Petkvic goes unnoticed by the rest of the passengers except Dinosaur Jr., who spots the demon train operator after he takes a pill for what looks to be a severe headache. At the end of the video Dinosaur Jr. takes out his train ticket & begins to noticed that it says “Issued by Fate. Valid for first class passage on the party express to hell,” realizing where his final destination is going to be. Below you can checkout the video.
