Jessica Lea Mayfield has something to say to the world. In her powerful new album Sorry is Gone, she says sorry for no longer being sorry. In “Sorry is Gone” she is shedding the feeling of insecurity of thinking that she needed to constantly apologize for everything. This newfound attitude shows itself in her music video of “Sorry is Gone.” Watch it below:

The album is full of empowerment after moving past a period of her life that was very difficult for her. She brought out the feeling of being unimportant and alone. She wrote “Sorry is Gone” while separating from her husband and co-producer.

While the personal experience she faced in the past is very heavy and hard-to-swallow, the music video to the song is quite the opposite. The video is full of life and color. Jessica Lea Mayfield drives away with as if she’s leaving her past behind to go on a new adventure. Meanwhile, she is singing about leaving a space where she feels she doesn’t belong.

There’s a game of musical chairs that takes place in a barren landscape while she contemplates being alone.
All of these elements come together to create a very flowing and empowering video.

The song is just one of many that will be on her full Sorry is Gone album. This new album is going to be her fourth album. In the past she had had slightly heavier music that leaned toward grunge a little. Her last album to date, Make My Head Sing was released in 2014 and was co-produced with her husband at the time. It was her heaviest sounding record.

Sorry is Gone will be produced by John Agnello. Her fourth album being released on September 29 is a big change from her previously released album. The 11 track album is available for pre-order here.
