Poppy @ The Foundry 11/16

Moriah Pereira, known by her stage name Poppy, is an American singer, songwriter, and YouTube personality. Known for her musical covers of popular songs, Poppy continued to pursue her musical career after moving to Los Angeles from Nashville. Poppy released her debut EP, Bubblebath in late 2016. Poppy’s music has been described as catchy pop with ambient vibes. Poppy released her debut studio album, 3:36 (Music to Sleep To) in 2016.

Poppy grew up in Nashville where she learned to dance and found her passion for music. Before 2014, Poppy was performing at small festivals all over the US. During her time in Nashville, Poppy gain a lot of attention for her covers of songs including MGMT’s “Kids” and Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You”. After moving to L.A. in 2014, Poppy started making YouTube animated videos. Aside from YouTube, Poppy continued to pursue her music career. In 2015, Poppy signed with Island Records and released her debut single, “Everybody Wants to Be Poppy”. Poppy went on to perform at various music festivals around the US. In February 2016, Poppy released her debut EP, Bubblebath. The EP only continued to boast success for Poppy.

Aside from her music, Poppy has been heavily popular on YouTube with her channel. Poppy’s channel as been mentioned by various other YouTubers such as Pewdiepie, Night Mind, The Film Theorist, and others. While many of her videos feature promotional videos, Poppy has also released new original music. Poppy also runs a mini series titled Everybody Wants to Be Poppy on her channel.

Donovan Wilkins: Donovan Wilkins is a self-taught photographer and published writer. He lives in Glenside after moving from his hometown of Philadelphia. After studying Liberal Arts at CCP, he decided to focus his time on his writing and photography. In 2016, Donovan completed his first feature-length screenplay, The Coast is Clear. During his career, Donovan worked on a small budget film in Philadelphia as part of a writing team. Since then, he has written various short screenplays.
