Nancy Wilson and Liv Warfield Form New Band Roadcase Royale and Announce Debut Album First Things First for September 2017 Release

Roadcase Royale announced the release of their debut album, First Things First, as September 22 of this year. The brand new band led by Nancy Wilson and Liv Warfield, who just signed with Loud & Proud Records, formed in January 2017. Everyone knows Nancy Wilson from the Hall of Fame group, Heart, and Liv Warfield from Prince’s backing band, Prince’s New Power Generation. The two have teamed up to create a sound that a press release states is ““muscular rock with some R&B/Blues and in depth ballads thrown in.”

Roadcase Royale is a supergroup, more like Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young than the Golden State Warriors, but with as much musical energy to pack the same arena. Wilson wants the world to know that the new project does not eclipse her alma mater, Heart, of whom’s Dan Rothchild will produce her band’s debut album.

Of Wilson and Warfield’s dynamic, Loud & Proud President Tom Lipsky says, they “are magic together, and the musicianship is outstanding.”

Loud & Proud and Roadcase Royale are surely to produce some exciting new material in the years to come. The label, which also hosts Lynyrd Skynyrd, is very excited about the relationship.

“The interesting blend of talents and influences is what makes Roadcase Royale special. Most importantly, there is a fire within this group to do something original, to feed off each other and explore new creative directions. It is exciting to see that kind of passion and drive in artists that have already accomplished so much. We are proud to be their label partners.”

Wilson also admits she is excited for the change of pace.

“Roadcase Royale is a band I’ve always wanted to be in. We all write and create songs as a unit. It’s an inspired democracy. Liv and Ryan both bring a whole new level of magic to our new sound. I’m amazed after devoting my life to rock music how it now feels so brand new. That’s why our first album is called First Things First.”

The band name comes from Wilson.

“When I came up with the name Roadcase Royale it was an interesting symbol to me since the big heavy-duty road cases that our amps drums and guitars travel in are much like the musicians they accompany on the road. Strong and regal looking yet all scuffed up and dented, covered in funny stickers that tell the story of a crazy traveling circus.”

Wilson and Warfield are joined by Ryan Waters (lead guitar), and Heart members Chris Joyner (keys), Dan Rothchild (bass), and Ben Smith (drums. Though Wilson and Warfield will bring their individual sounds into the mix for Roadcase Royale, Hearts fans will not be missing out.

Roadcase Royale are embarking on a U.S. tour that kicks off at The Gramercy Theatre in New York on September 10th, twelve days before the album release.

Tour Dates:
Sept 10 @ The Gramercy Theatre – New York, NY

Conrad Brittenham: My name is Conrad. I am one year out of college and pursuing a career in writing and journalism. I studied literature at Bard College, in the Hudson Valley. My thesis focuses on the literal and figurative uses of disease in Herman Melville’s most famous works, including Moby-Dick, Benito Cereno, and Billy Budd. My literary research on the topic of disease carried over to more historical findings about how humans tend to deal with and think about the problem of virus and infectivity. I’ve worked at a newspaper and an ad agency, as well as for the past year at an after school program, called The Brooklyn Robot Foundry. All of these positions have influenced the way I approach my work, my writing, and the way I interact with others in a professional setting. I’ve lived in London and New York, and have always had a unique perspective on international cultural matters. I am an avid drawer and a guitarist, but I would like to eventually work for a major news publication as an investigative journalist.
