The War On Drugs Release Another New Song “Strangest Things” To Support The Upcoming New Album

The War On Drugs have recently released a song “Strangest Thing”, which will be a part of the upcoming album, A Deeper Understanding, which will be out on August 25th. This follows the release of “Holding On” and its music video, and “Thinking of a Place”.

According to the press release, this new material is created with production by Granduciel with engineer Shawn Everett from Alabama Shakes, and Weezer. The “band” also features bassist Dave Hartley, keyboardist Robbie Bennett, drummer Charlie Hall and multi-instrumentalists Anthony LaMarca and Jon Natchez.

The song begins with soft synths and guitar sounds, but becomes more forceful as the song progresses. The video starts out blurry, and focuses to show the artist walking in front the paths to a old building that’s empty. As the video continues, there are scenes of the artist continuing to walk in front of the building and other scenes zooming into the glass of the building. Near the end of the song, the camera adds another scene of the sun setting. The video can be watch below.
