Liam Gallagher (of Oasis) @ Terminal 5 11/27

Liam Gallagher doesn’t need an introduction. Even if you lived under a rock your whole life you still know all the words to “Wonderwall,” one of the top songs from Oasis. Oasis was one of those iconic bands that defined a generation, and now the foul-mouthed, badass frontman is venturing solo (even though he doesn’t see it as a “solo career” but more as a release of songs he’s written and wants to share).

His debut upcoming release As You Were will be out in October (produced by Greg Kurstin of Adele). His first single “Off the Wall” was already released, and just recently he came out with a video for his second single called “Chinatown.” Gallagher first performed solo in Manchester at the benefit concert held there, showcasing some of his new tunes, and sharing the stage with Coldplay. He describes his sound as being reminiscent of John Lennon’s “Cold Turkey” mixed with a Rolling Stones vibe. Whatever it is, fans are undoubtedly eager for it–for that jagged English sound that everyone has missed so much.

There are only a handful of shows that Liam Gallagher has scheduled so far, and luckily NYC is one of them. (He’s also scheduled two more shows in NYC–one at Rough Trade on July 30th, and the other at a secret location somewhere in the city on July 28th). But playing Terminal 5 seems the most suited for this musician (and luckily it’s big enough to hold whatever sass he decides to bring along).
