Neon Indian (DJ set) @ Kingdom 10/7

Alan Palomo is the mastermind behind the chill-wave band Neon Indian. The group started out in 2009 in Denton, Texas. Palomo was also associated with Ghosthustler and VEGA before creating Neon Indian. With Palomo being such a wizard creating the music for Neon Indian, the band was even named one of the best new bands of 2010 by Rolling Stone. A live band joins the stage with Palomo for performances.

Neon Indian has released three albums and two EPs. The debut album Psychic Chasms landed number 14 on Pitchfork’s Top 50 Albums of 2009. “It sounds like the idea of an old cassette, in the same way pre-faded jeans look like the idea of jeans that have been worn for a decade,” Pitchfork explains about the debut album. Vega Intl. Night School is the latest album from the band that was out in 2015, Palomo shows a new side with this album compared to his past work. The album is a bit more of a techno disco separated into different layers, but it works with what Neon Indian is going for.
