Sepultura announce Chaos A.D. and Roots Remastered Expanded Reissues Featuring Rare and Unreleased Tracks

Brazilian rock group Sepultura have announced their plans to re-release a remastered and updated versions of their 1993 hit albums Chaos A.D. on Oct. 6 and and Roots one month later on Nov. 3. The new albums will include unreleased studio and live recordings, including the rare b-side “Mine” from Roots which featured Mike Patton, and “Lookaway” from side A featuring Mike Patton and Jonathan Davis from Korn.

According to the press release, “The band was in the midst of a creative and commercial peak in 1993 when it released Chaos A.D. with Max Cavalera on vocals & guitar, Andreas Kisser on guitar, Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr on bass and Iggor Cavalera on drums. The record ushered in a more groove-based sound on songs like the singles “Refuse/Resist,” “Territory” and “Slave New World.””

The Chaos A.D.: Expanded Edition will include remastered versions of all the original tracks, including a cover of Black Sabbath’s “Symptom of the Universe,” as well as nine killer live tracks like “Terriotry” and “Biotech is Godzilla.”

The Roots: Expanded Edition features a full remaster of the original album as well, in addition to another 17 bonus tracks. Several highlights include include demos for “Dusted” and “Roots Bloody Roots.” There are instrumental versions of tracks as well, including “Dictatorshit” and “Cutthroat.” There is no doubt you will be able to feel the energy during the live version of “Attitude” recorded at Ozzfest, and the unreleased first take of “Kaiowas” is something to add to your playlist.
