Levitation France Announces 2017 Lineup Featuring A Place to Bury Strangers, The Black Angels, Slowdive

The 5th Levitation France has announced the lineup for the 2017 event held at the Theatre Le Quai in downtown Angers, France, on September 15 & 16, 2017. This year’s lineup features A Place to Bury Stranger, who will be going on a tour in September with The Black Angels, and Slowdive, who has recently released the self titled album Slowdive.

Levitation, formerly called Austin Psych Fest, was renamed in honor of Austin’s legendary psychedelic rock band The 13th Floor Elevators. As the festival gained popularity, it expanded in other cities starting with Angers, France in September 20-21, 2013. In this year, 17 bands were in the lineup including Black Angels, Ded Meadow and Night Beats. Previous artists that have played are Black Lips, The Growlers and The UFO Club. Angers, France is located about 300 kilometers south-west of Parison the banks of the Maine, and contains a rich history, such as historic buildings like the castle of the Dukes of Anjou.

The first set in the lineup, that have been listed on the website, contains The Black Angels, Slowdive, Forest Swords, Beach Fossils, A Place to Bury Strangers, Group Doueeh & Cheveu, Black Devil Disco Club, Acid Mothers Temple, The KVB, Bo Ningen, Little Ghost, Ulrika Spacek, The Holydrug Couple, Cosmonauts, Elephant Stone, CFM, Villejuif Underground, and Moon Gogo. There are more artists that are to be announced. The festival’s poster is shown below.

There are travel options along with accommodations. There are train stations in Angers that are about 1.5 km from the Quai. From Paris and Charles de Gaulle, the TGV will have access to reach Angers through airport. The YesGO and Flixbus buses will also serve the city. To get a seat to the city, booking should be made as soon as possible, as the bookings for the trains will open in June and for the buses in August. There are also a range of hotels in the center of Angers, along with campsites that are about 5 km from the Quai au Lac de Maine.
