Canadian singer-songwriter Feist has released a new music video for the song “Century” off her latest release, Pleasure. The video, directed by Scott Cudmore, features a cameo appearance from Pulp front man Jarvis Cocker, who also co-wrote and guest starred on the song.
Starting with a twitchy and spazzed out dance battle between two groups of people under a freeway overpass, Cocker emerges to give a 90 second monologue as the camera closes in on his face and his deadpan delivery. Musically the song features a blend of pounding drum beats, slinking bass and the powerful vocals of Feist herself. Pleasure is the first release from Feist since 2011’s Metals and has won a great deal of critical acclaim since its release in April of this year.
Feist is gearing up for an extensive run of tour dates this summer that will see her playing all over Europe and North America.
