Alt-rock heroines the Breeders seem to be finally approaching an announcement for another studio album. Fans may have been promised something three years ago, but with nothing coming of all the talk, it would be easy to imagine how desperate fans have gotten at this point.
Now, the outfit has just announced fall tour dates in Europe, the UK, as well as North America. The run will kick off on October 15 in Glasgow, UK at ABC, and wrap up on November 13 in Los Angeles, CA at El Rey Theatre. While it is a short tour, it does cover a lot of ground quickly.
The band is also reportedly working on a new record, which would be their first since 2008’s Mountain Battles. In June, they hinted on Facebook that Courtney Barnett had joined them in their Ohio studio during a recording session. Interestingly, Courtney Barnett had previously covered the band’s breakthrough hit “Cannonball.” A 2018 release date would mark 25 years since their post-Pixies breakthrough, Last Splash.
That being said, no specific word has been given as to whether anything will come of this work, so keep your eye out for any new information.
This touring lineup will feature the Deal sisters, Josephine Wiggs, and Jim Macpherson. Check out the tour schedule below.
