Surfer Blood @ Stubb’s 9/9

The surf rock four-piece swimming out of West Palm Beach, Florida, Surfer Blood is coming to Austin in September. The band is made up by four members: John Paul Pitts on vocals and guitar, Mike Mcleary on backing vocals and guitar, Lindsey Mills on backing vocals and bass and Tyler Schwarz on drums. The band was formed in 2009 by Pitts and Schwarz, where they had been playing in Orlando. Before the group finally changed their name to Surfer Blood while in their hometown West Palm Beach, they were known as Jabroni Sandwich and then TV Club.

Surfer Blood really got their name out by performing at festivals like CMJ Music Marathon, SXSW, All Tomorrow’s Parties music fest and San Miguel Primavera Sound Festival. Since the group started out in 2009, they have released four albums, one EP and several singles. Surfer Blood is currently signed to Joyful Records, Magniph in Japan and Lab 344 in Brazil. Snowdonia is their latest album that was out this past February via Joyful Noise.
