Wye Oak, who has collaborated with Katie Harkin and others to cover Comsat Angel’s “Independence Day”, has announced a fall tour that will start from September 28th in Charlotte, NC to October 9th in Boston, MA. This tour will surround the band’s upcoming release of “Spiral” b/w “Wave Is Not the Water”, which is a limited edition 7 inch on a red vinyl.
Both songs were released originally with the partnership of Adult Swim. “Spiral” was created around 2012, while the band was going to begin on working on Shriek. Its described to be a time when the band had “just starting to experiment with synthetic and more pop-oriented sounds”. “Wave Is Not The Water” was created earlier this month while no one was near each other during the time as there was touring for Andy Stack in Lambchop.
According to the press release, the tour will be “brief run of smaller, more intimate shows this fall” where the band will be playing some brand new material, taking questions from fans and, as the band described it “generally exposing y’all to our legendary brand of TMI-style stage banter. ”
This tour is mainly set in the East Coast. The tour dates are listed below.
