Foster The People Take A Surprisingly Electronic Focus on New Song “Loyal Like Sid & Nancy”

With alt-rock favorites Foster the People’s third record Sacred Hearts Club just around the corner, Mark Foster & co. have released a glitchy new track called “Loyal Like Sid & Nancy,” referencing the infamous couple.

To call the relationship between the late Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols and his manager/girlfriend Nancy Spungen as tumultuous would be a grievous understatement. Vicious was arrested for the alleged murder of Spungen, but he had died of a heroin overdose while out on bail before the case went to trial.

The new track is surprisingly electronic-heavy, coming from the previously more pop-rock oriented sound that Foster the People had fronted.

Sacred Hearts Club will be out July 21st, and features the previously released singles “Doing It for the Money”, “Pay the Man” and “SHC.” Foster the People will embark on a US headlining tour this fall in support of Sacred Hearts CLub, and is scheduled to perform at this year’s Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits.
