Bastille @ The Fillmore 9/14

British indie pop band, Bastille is one of the most exciting bands in today’s music. Bastille’s latest album, Wild World, was released in 2016. After releasing their debut album independently, Bastille signed with Virgin Records in 2014. The band won British Breakthrough Artist at the 2014 Brit Awards. Their debut album, Bad Blood, earned the number one spot on the UK Albums Chart in 2013. The band has sold over 6 million albums worldwide and 3 million records in just the UK.

Bastille debuted in July 2010 with the release of two tracks titled, “Flaws” and “Icarus”. As the band pushed their music through YouTube and MySpace, Bastille continued to gain a following. The band signed a contract with Virgin Records in 2011. The band booked gigs at major UK-based festivals like the Isle of Wight, Redfest Reading, Blissfields, and Glastonbury. Bastille released their offical single, “Overjoyed” in April 2012 through Virgin Records. Bastille releases their debut album, Bad Blood on March 4, 2013. The album was certified platinum 2x by BPI and gold by ARIA. The album peaked at number 11 on Billboard 200 and number one on UK Albums chart. The band was named “New Band of the Day” by British newspaper The Guardian in July 2012. Bastille’s debut album shot the band to worldwide fame.

Bastille re-released their debut album, All This Bad Blood, on January 25, 2014. Bastille toured with bands like The Neighbourhood, HAIM, and Lizzo. The band headlined their first world tour in support of the debut album. Bastille announced the release date for their new LP, Wild World early 2016. The band went on tour in July of the same year. The band also set up pop-up shops around major cities promote the LP. Bastille’s music has been used in various shows like The Vampire Dairies, Made in Chelsea, Teen Wolf, and various others.

Donovan Wilkins: Donovan Wilkins is a self-taught photographer and published writer. He lives in Glenside after moving from his hometown of Philadelphia. After studying Liberal Arts at CCP, he decided to focus his time on his writing and photography. In 2016, Donovan completed his first feature-length screenplay, The Coast is Clear. During his career, Donovan worked on a small budget film in Philadelphia as part of a writing team. Since then, he has written various short screenplays.
