Fans of the English rock band, The Horrors, have been patiently waiting for new music to fill one’s music playlist and it seems like that patience is finally being rewarded.
The Horrors have returned with a brand new track giving fans a taste of what is to come for the band. Though the waiting for the release of their fifth album is still going on, fans can take a small solace with the new track which is titled, “Machine.”
The song, “Machine” was recorded at The Church Studios and was produced by legend, Paul Epworth. The same producer who help produced a variety of well known artists such as Adele, Rihanna, Florence & the Machine and Foster the People. “Machine” is the band’s first new track in the last three years. With the past few albums feeling more electronic than anything else, the new single has a more rock sound to it that still feels like one is listening to the Horrors.
There was a kind of tease on the band’s social media page recently. The band posted on their Instagram page a series of image posts that when put together created a much larger image. This larger image teased the new song in a way that reinvents the way artists markets themselves and their work. The image as a whole mirrors something one might find in a David Cronenberg film, a creature coming forth from the pit reaching out to grab whoever is in its path.
The Horrors for those in the dark is an English Rock band formed back in 2005 and consists of lead vocalist Faris Badwan, guitarist Joshua Hayward, keyboardist and synthesiser player Tom Cowan (also known as Tom Furse), bassist Rhys Webb, and drummer and percussionist Joe Spurgeon. During their career, they have released four studio albums all of which charted within the UK Top 40. Badwan does double duties as he offers up his vocals as part of the alternative rock band, Cat’s Eyes during his time when he not with the Horrors. Recently, he lend his vocals to Hercules & Love Affair new song, “Controller.”
