SKA band Mad Caddies is heading into San Francisco this summer. They will be performing at Slim’s on June 24th. They will be opened by the band The Happy’s. The California natives will also be later playing on the rest of the west coast and in the UK.
The Mad Caddies a.k.a The Ivy League a.k.a the Caddies came into conception back in 1995. The band’s most recent album came out in 2014 and is titled Dirty Rice. It is the band’s sixth studio album. That album’s most popular songs are Bring It Down, Brand New Scar, and Love Myself. This album is a bit of a departure from their other stuff as it is a bit more pop centric than their previous content, but nonetheless just as good. The band’s five other studio albums range in sound as the years have gone by. The Mad Caddies’ other popular songs include Drinking for 11, Backyard, State of Mind, Weird Beard, Lay Your Head Down, Road Rash, and Without You. The Mad Caddies’ sound is an interesting mix; it’s eclectic and constantly changing. They are known for their ska sound, but also their infusion of reggae, punk, polka, cow punk, and sea shanties. For the past 20 plus years, this band has done it all. They offer a fun, different type of ska music that is not normally seen. By allowing themselves to have a constantly changing and evolving sound, the band has allowed itself to grow and diversify itself despite the change in time.
Fans of Sublime, Goldfinger, or Less Than Jake will be into this show. The band’s mix of sound and different instruments make for an interesting live performance. So, my dudes, have a little fun and rock out alongside this veteran ska band. It’s gonna be a good time.
