As reported by theprp.com, Brendan Small has released details for the new Galaktikon album, Become the Storm out on Megaforce Records on August 25th. The set was again produced by Ulrich Wild, who also produced the previous Galaktikon album and the Dethklok albums. Joining Brendon Small in the studio were drummer Gene Hoglan (Dark Angel, Testament, etc) and bassist Bryan Beller, both of whom made up the final touring lineup of Dethklok.

With the cancellation of Metalocalypse, Small has put all his energy into making the best Galaktikon record possible, continuing to expand upon his brand of epic metal. Fans can expect plenty of moments of crushing metal to go along with soaring vocals and the incendiary guitar solos that have made Small household name in the metal community. A few weeks ago Small talked with The Nerdist about the thematic direction of the album, noting that “this is more of a Frank Herbert intergalactic war story with a splash of Flash Gordon high-stakes drama” as opposed to the more gory subject matter present on the Dethklok albums. No plans for a tour have been announced yet.
