Here comes a blast from the past! The rock band The Plain White T’s will be hitting up the Bay this summer when they roll into the Alameda County Fair. They will be playing a set at the fair on July 18th. The band will be playing the ampitheatre.
The band that made a splash with their hit single Hey There Delilah is planning on making a scene at the fair this year. The band’s most recent work came in 2015 with the album American Nights, their seventh studio album. That album is known for the songs Pause, Dance Off Time, and the title song American Nights. Other than that the band is known for their major breakthrough song the aforementioned Hey There Delilah, which grabbed them success back in 2007. That song eventually went platinum and nabbed two Grammy nominees. Other successful songs the band is known for are 1,2,3,4, Rhythm of Love, Our Time Now, Hate (I Really Don’t Like You), Natural Disaster, and Let Me Take You There. One thing that this band has going for them (other than their wildly successful songs?) is that the band switches between vocalists Tom Higgenson and Tim Lopez, both of which have sung 2 of the band’s better known songs. The Plain White T’s sound has stayed consistent and familiar. They don’t over reach in a way that makes their fanbase feel as if they are listening to a completely different band even when they did change lead vocals.
Fans of We the Kings, The All-American Rejects, or All Time Low will be down for hitting up this set. For the casual listener, they’ll know Plain White T’s major songs, because let’s face it for a while their music was everywhere. So hit up some games, eat some gnarly food, and check out this band this summer!
