Brooklyn-based rock band Grizzly Bear is back in town at The Fillmore. Grizzly Bear is known for their use of electronic instruments and vocal harmonies. The band has also been described as folk rock and experimental. Grizzly Bear has released 4 studio albums with their fifth album, Painted Ruins, to be release later this year. Grizzly Bear is currently signed to RCA Records.
In 2002, Grizzly Bear was formed with founder Ed Droste. Down the line, Grizzly Bear added more members like Christoper Bear, Chris Taylor, Daniel Rossen. What started out as a moniker for Ed Droste, Grizzly Bear evolved into a great band of today after appearing on Grizzly Bear’s debut album, Horn of Plenty in 2004. In 2006 Grizzly Bear released their second album, Yellow House. The album was well received in the music community and fans. The album was ranked as one of the best albums of 2006 by media outlet Pitchfork. Grizzly Bear’s third album, Veckatimest, was released May 2009 after touring with Radiohead on their North American tour. The album reached number 8 on Billboard 200 chart as well as number one on US Billboard Top Independent Albums.
In 2013, Grizzly Bear’s fourth album, Shields, was leaked on the internet before the official release date. The album was officially released in September 2013. Two months later, Grizzly Bear released a different version of Shields which included new unreleased songs and a few remixes. Grizzly Bear live streamed the final show of their international ‘Shields’ tour on YouTube. Since June 2016, Grizzly Bear has been hard at work on their new album, Painted Ruins, due out this fall.
