Gypsy punk band Gogol Bordello have just announced a new album entitled “Seekers and Finders,” scheduled to be dropped on Aug. 25 via Cooking Vinyl.
“Seekers and Finders is just a very magical and playful record for us,” said frontman Eugene Hütz in a press release regarding the upcoming album. “It just feels quite complete in capturing the Gogol familia transcontinental lifestyle, every side of it… the Good, The Bad, and the Snugly.”
The band took their time creating this LP, writing different parts of the album in various sections of the world. “I was still bouncing between Latin America and Eastern Europe when songs were emerging,” he explained. “But finally, as soon as I moved back to New York, it all came into focus… as it always did for me here,”
The group have already released one song off the album, called “Saboteur Blues,” a track about making sure to appreciate the moment you’re in.
“This song is about the full commitment to the moment and putting the end to this self-sabotage… and going on a rampage with it,” Eugene says. “Our lives are royally sabotaged by our thinking being stuck in our past or future.”
Pre-sale tickets for “Seekers and Finders” are currently available for purchase here. Earlier in April, Gogol Bordello announced a summer 2017 tour throughout the United States that will span across two and a half months, beginning in August in New York. Along the way, they’ll be making a festival stop in Chicago, IL for the Riot Fest this Sept. This month, the group will be going international to perform at the Hurricane Festival in Germany and later on will be headlining GOODfest in New York.
