Known for their YouTube covers and original music, pop band Timeflies has continued to show the world they are real musicians with real talent. Hailing from Boston, the duo has released 3 studio albums since 2011. Their fan base grew as Timeflies continued to push into the mainstream scene. Timeflies released their debut album, The Scotch Tape in September 2011 while unsigned. The band has over 200 million views on YouTube and 300 million streams on Spotify. Timeflies recently released a new song, “Raincoat” featuring Shy Martin earlier this year.
Timeflies were founded by Cal Shapiro and Rob Resnick back in 201o. While attending Tufts University, the pair formed Timeflies and released their debut album, The Scotch Tape in 2011. The album was such a success, peaking at number 8 on iTunes overall chart and number 2 on iTunes Pop chart. Timeflies performed at various music festivals across the United States in support of the release. A year after the release of their debut album, Timeflies released their debut EP titled One Night. The EP reached the number one spot on iTunes Pop chart. In 2013, Billboard named them as one of their 13 artists to watch. The same year, Timeflies’ music label, Forty8 Fifty was created under Island Def Jam Music Group.
Timeflies toured all across the US in 2013, even performing at Lollapalooza in Chicago. In 2014, Timeflies released their second studio album, After Hours. The album featured an all-star cast of musicians including T-Pain, Mike Posner, and Katie Sky. The peaked at number 3 on iTunes music chart. The band is currently working on their fourth studio album, due this year.
