After canceling headlining sets at Sasquatch! and Hangout Festivals, the California singer has canceled yet another headlining venture. The Barcelona-based festival, Primavera Sound, released a statement on their website four days before the festival began announcing that headliner Frank Ocean had pulled out of the festival. Primavera is claiming Ocean backed out due to “production delays beyond his control.”
We regret to announce that Frank Ocean’s concert programmed on Friday 2nd June in the Parc del Fòrum as part of Primavera Sound festival has been cancelled due to production delays beyond his control. The artist has apologised and has reiterated his wish to come to Barcelona soon.
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by this situation and we appreciate your understanding. Soon we will inform you about the possible changes to the schedule in light of the above.
People who have a day ticket for Friday 2nd June will be able to ask for a refund of the sale price until Tuesday 30th May at 11:59 pm (GMT+1).
From Wednesday 31st and depending on the number of refund applications, a new batch of day tickets for the Friday will go on sale through the Primavera Sound Portal and Redtkt.
Primavera’s team apologized to their fans in the statement and on their social media feeds, and told fans they’d be able to get refunds for their tickets up until Tuesday, May 30.

Ocean had already backed out of two music festivals this year, Hangout and Sasquatch, with the same explanation used to explain his absence at both events. His upcoming performances were set to be his first since the release of last year’s comeback albums, Blonde and Endless. What everyone is wondering now is whether Ocean will end up performing at any of the festivals he’s scheduled to play at this summer. Ocean is scheduled for a series of festivals around the world but has a history of cancellation with a few of them already. FYF Festival, which he’s scheduled to headline in late July, was the site of a prior Ocean cancellation in 2015. His explanation two years ago was that he “decided on his own terms to cancel his appearance.” With these constant string of cancellations, it now means that Ocean hasn’t played any shows since 2015 in Manchester.
