Alternative rock band Palehound set to rock the stage at Empty Bottle July 7th along with New York City’s Rips.
2015 was an exciting year for the band. They released Dry Food, their debut album and also won the Boston Music Award for new artist of the year. The alternative group then went on a European tour in support of the album the following year. And they signed with Polyvinyl Records in March of this year.
The whimsical lyrics the band is known for is brought to you by Ellen Kempner, who is also the group’s lead guitarist. She is accompanied by Jesse Weiss on drums and David Khoshtinat on bass. They have had success with the release of popular singles “Kitchen” (2014) and “Molly” (2016).
Brooklyn-based Rips will join Palehound on stage that evening. The rock band formed in 2013 and has gained a large local following by paying shows throughout the city on a regular basis. They released the single “Malibu Entropy” ahead of their full-length debut album Rips which is expected to drop June 16th. .
