American noise rock and experimental legends Today Is The Day have recently reissued their classic 1997 4th LP Temple Of The Morning Star, and now they’ve gone and announced a tour to celebrate the album’s 20th anniversary as well.
Today Is The Day will be accompanied every date by the avant-garde music collective Kayo Dot as well, undoubtedly making each show something to look forward to.
The tour will be beginning in Brooklyn June 6th, and will make its way across the contiguous United States, and ending with two dates in Canada late July.
Today Is The Day’s frontman Steve Austin also has an upcoming album with the ambient project BardSpec, called Hydrogen, due June 23rd via By Norse.
Today Is The Day have made their name utilizing an utterly diverse sound, including a variety of influences, including grindcore, jazz fusion, death metal, and progressive rock. Many records of theirs tend to incorporate experimental elements, not holding back on the dissonance and psychedelic effects.
