The Cranberries @ The Fillmore 9/20

The Cranberries are head to The Fillmore this fall. The Irish rock band has been associated with punk pop, indie pop, and Irish folk.  The band rose to fame in the 1990s with their successful debut album, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?. The Cranberries became one of the most successful rock bands of the ’90s and sold over 100 million units. The Cranberries have over 10 hit singles and 4 top 20 albums. The Cranberries went on a six-year hiatus before returning to the music scene in 2009. The band released their latest album, Something Else in April 2017.

The Cranberries released their 3 track EP Nothing Left At All in 1989. The band signed with Xeric Records the same year. After the release of their EP, The Cranberries gained the attention of major British record labels. The attention led to an all out bidding war between the labels. The Cranberries released their official EP, Uncertain with Island Records. The Cranberries toured all over Europe in support of their EP. The band made appearances all over British radio stations and TV including BBC Radio 1’s John Peel show. The Cranberries made their way into the mainstream music scene with their debut single, “Dreams”. MTV played the band’s music heavily in the ’90s. In 1995, The Cranberries released another hit single, “Zombies” which went triple platinum the same year. The Cranberries broke multiple Billboard records at the height of their success.

When The Cranberries reunited in 2009, the band went on a North American tour. The tour included a lot of The Cranberries’ hits and some new music. Roses, The Cranberries’ sixth album was released in February 2012. In 2016, The Cranberries announced they were heading another tour in Europe for 2017. The same day, The Cranberries announced their new album for April 2017.

Donovan Wilkins: Donovan Wilkins is a self-taught photographer and published writer. He lives in Glenside after moving from his hometown of Philadelphia. After studying Liberal Arts at CCP, he decided to focus his time on his writing and photography. In 2016, Donovan completed his first feature-length screenplay, The Coast is Clear. During his career, Donovan worked on a small budget film in Philadelphia as part of a writing team. Since then, he has written various short screenplays.
