Danger Mouse Teams up With Run the Jewels and Big Boi for New Song “Chase Me”

In this generation more than any other, artists are constantly looking for different ways to generate revenue off of their brand. From streaming, to touring, to endorsements artists can find different avenues to make money from. One of those avenues is soundtracks to feature films. Edgar Wright’s upcoming directorial effort “Baby Driver” is about a young man who constantly hears a ringing noise in his ear after an accident so he listens to music to stop it, while he acts as the getaway driver for criminals.

Fittingly, this soundtrack will feature a number of great artists, including Danger Mouse, Run The Jewels and Big Boi. The three acts have joined together on the new song “Chase Me”. “You want ya money back”? Chase Me” is a fitting line as the cover art shows the getaway car running from a number of different cop cars. One of the most notable aspects of the song is its heart-pumping sample of the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion classic “Bellbottoms.”

This year fans can see Run the Jewels performing at Pitchfork’s Paris Festival alongside The National and Ride, which should be exciting for fans over seas who don’t get chance to see their favorite American acts. One half of legendary music group Outkast, Big Boi has been pretty active preparing to release another solo album. Big Boi released the video to his new song “Mic Jack” which was also performed on The Voice alongside Adam Levine.

UPDATE (6/22): Danger Mouse has released a video for the song “Chase Me.” The clip features scenes from Baby Driver as well as scenes of Run the Jewels, Big Boi and Danger Mouse performing the song.
