LFO, also known as Lyte Funkie Ones, is an American pop band hailing from Massachusetts. Over the course of a few years, LFO sold over 5 million records worldwide. LFO music has been described as pop, hip hop, and dance. LFO has majors hits like “Summer Girls” and “Girl on TV” in their career. The group disbanded in 2002 due to creative differences. LFO got back together in 2009 for a special reunion and announced a second breakup.
In the beginning, LFO was founded by Rich Cronin, Brad Fischetti, and Brian Gillis. Brian Gillis was later replaced by Devin Lima in 1999. Brian Gillis went on to pursue your solo career. Lyte Funkie Ones released their debut self-titled album in 1999. The album peaked at number 21 on Billboard 200 and number 62 on Uk Album chart. Their hit single, “Summer Girls” was nominated for a Billboard Music Award got Top Selling Single of the Year. The following year, LFO did nonstop tours all around the world and appeared at various festivals. LFO released their final album, Life Is Good, in 2001 before their first breakup.
After record sales dropped from their first album, LFO decided to disband in 2002. In 2009, LFO confirmed the band was getting back together via MySpace. The band did a reunion tour in the fall of 2009 until it was cut short. Founding member Rich Cronin died before the could release their third album. Even though short-lived, LFO was a great band in the early stages.
