Governor’s Ball After-Dark: Zane Lowe & Friends @ Schimanksi 6/3

Zane Lowe is an international sensation. What he’s currently doing with Apple Music is basically unparalleled to anything that’s out there. What he does on his show called Beats 1 is spin what you’d come to expect from a typical radio show and completely shake it up, creating a new medium for music fans all over the world. In fact, Beats 1 is not really a radio station at all, which Zane wants to be very clear on. Beats 1 streams new albums and invites artists to come in and talk about everything music. Those artists will even play their own playlists. It’s all about creating an energy, being more interactive than a typical radio station, and bringing in artists who can bring in a unique flavor and do something different. Top artists who’ve been at Beats 1 include Drake, Chance the Rapper, Elton John, St. Vincent, and so many more.

To Zane Lowe, music is multi-faceted, and there’s so much more to discover when it comes to the evolution of how we can listen. Creating an experience is his goal with Apple–an experience that will inspire, teach, and encourage creativity for his intended audience. And this is just the beginning.

What Zane Lowe will do at Governor’s Ball is sort of a mystery, but at at Gov Ball After-Dark he will be presenting three artists: YG, Charli XCX, and Anik Khan. But when it comes to Lowe, there is one thing for certain: It will always, always, always be all about the music.
