Flying Lotus Releases Soulful New Song “Night Grows Pale”

Just after dropped a killer remix of the Twin Peaks theme song, Flying Lotus returns with a new track “Night Grows Pale.” Just like the remix, the Los Angeles producer released the song on Soundcloud and coyly tweeted about it with little fanfare. The song is worth plenty of fanfare though, blending soulful horns and a chilled-out beat. The song also samples legendary glam-rock band Queen, pulling elements from their 1974 cut “White Queen (As It Began)” – which explains the Freddie Mercury-inspired artwork on the Soundcloud player.

It’s been a few years since the DJ released a new album, which was 2014’s You’re Dead! However, Flying Lotus has been extremely busy, starting up his film career and running Brainfeeder. He will play Fortress Festival this summer in addition to several other festival appearances.
