Electronic dream-pop band Aquilo will be coming to San Francisco this fall. The duo will be playing at The Chapel on November 13th. This will be their second to last stop on their North American and European tour.
The English duo that is Aquilo is composed of musicians Tom Higham and Ben Fletcher. The band’s most recent work includes their debut studio album Silhouettes, which was released in January of this year. That album is known for the songs Sorry, Silhouette, You Won’t Know Where You Stand, Blindside, and Human. They also released a new live EP this past month entitled In The Low Light (Live), which features many of their popular songs that were (clearly) recorded live, which emphasizes the talent between the two performers. Other than that the band has released five other EPs, one of which is another live compilation. Popular songs the band is known for include the releases You There, So Close To Magic, Never Hurt Again, Waiting, I Gave It All, and I Gave It All. The band’s sound is a mix of calm rock and downtempo electro pop music. Their music is emotional and is filled with heartbreak and angst.
Fans of Thomston, Jaymes Young, and Vancouver Sleep Clinic will be down for this show. They are mixing the hot genre of electronic pop and introspective and melancholy. This band is hitting the nail on the head with their musical direction and picking up traction within their music scene. Be in the know and hit hit this show up!
