Goldenvoice Confirms There Will Not Be a Desert Trip Festival in 2017

The festival news still continues to roll in and today fans are receiving some very disappointing news in regards to a beloved festival. Goldenvoice has conformed the rumor that there will be no Desert Trip Festival in 2017. Last year’s successful classic rock festival showcased performances from legendary acts such as Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, and Roger Waters. When speaking to BILLBOARD, Los Angeles based concert promoter Paul Tollet had this to say.

“We’re not doing Desert Trip this year,”  “We loved 2016 Desert Trip — that was a special moment in time. Maybe someday in the future we’ll do something similar.”

To say this sucks is an understatement. Many fans were wowed by last years performances or just appreciated that these legends were together in the same place.  Artists like Paul McCartney doesn’t just come out and perform just at any random festival. The same can be said about The Rolling Stones. This lead to fans anticipating what 2017’s lineup would look like. What rabbit would festival representatives pull out their hat to wow the fans this time. But, sadly there will be no Desert Trip Festival this year.

To put things into perspective, last year’s edition of the festival grossed $160 million over the two days it was active. After paying acts their fees and all other costs, organizers were able to make a nice profit.
