A former employee of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ has come forward in a new lawsuit with allegations of unwanted sexual advances and unpaid compensation for overtime work. Cindy Rueda previously worked for the hip-hop mogul as his personal chef in Los Angeles and the list of allegations include: sexual harassment, retaliation, defamation, failure to pay overtime and intentional infliction of emotional distress, and more.
Rueda alleges that she had a daily schedule working for Combs that began at 9 in the morning and would extend to midnight-2:30 am and was compensated with a flat rate of $150 per day.
In the official complaint, Rueda states that she repeatedly filed requests to Comb’s personal assistant, Christina Khorram for the correction in wages but the requests were denied. Claims have also been made that Comb’s and his house guests would often be nude or post-coital when making requests of her. Once specific instance given by Rueda states that while she was working in the kitchen, a male guest of Combs approached her in the nude and asked to admire his genitals.
Rueda is also claiming that she was made to be the scapegoat and entrapped in situations that gave the appearance that she was stealing from the mogul. An example given by Rueda includes Combs’ executive housekeeper, Iris. Rueda states that Iris often “salvaged” items that Diddy no longer wanted and offered them to her. This is of particular note because Rueda believes the reason for her termination is partly due to allegations of theft. Rueda is claiming Iris had offered Rueda a watch that was in the trash that accepted and was later accused of stealing.
Comb’s representatives have released the following statement:
“This is a frivolous lawsuit by a disgruntled ex-employee who was fired for a cause.”
Rueda is seeking damages for unpaid wages and overtime, plus punitive damages and an injunction to prevent future employees from being inaccurately classified as exempt. You can read the full complaint here.
